Jimmy McElroy

Jimmy David McElroy, 69, of Sweetwater, TN passed away Sunday, October 27, 2024 in his home. A native of McMinn and Monroe County, he was the son of the late Jess McElroy and Elizabeth Yarber McElroy of Sweetwater, as well as the brother of the late Betty Torbett of McMinn County. David was a member of the Church of God, and a well-known business owner and mechanic by trade.

Survivors include his son, John McElroy of Sweetwater, TN; granddaughter, Taylor McElroy Bennett of Oak Ridge; sister, Margaret Patterson of Sweetwater, TN; nephew, Travis Patterson of Sweetwater, TN; nieces Angie McKeehan of Decatur, TN: and Kim Duncan of Englewood, TN, as well as several great-nieces and nephews.

There will be no formal funeral service. A private ceremony will take place with just the surviving family and a few special guests. In lieu of flowers, any donations can be made to the gofundme that has been set up in his honor at https://gofund.me/28d80399. Those funds will be used to pay for his cremation and ceremony services.
