Jimmy Kubba

Mustafa Jamil Kubba, 88, of Birchwood, passed away on September 3 at his daughter's home with her and her partner of 26 years, Daniel Newby.

Jimmy was born December 13, 1935 in Baghdad, Iraq to the late Jamil Salem Kubba and Maayne Abul-Timman Kubba.

As an adult, Jimmy immigrated to the United States where he received a Bachelors degree from Tennessee Wesleyan and was retired from the Hotel and hospitality industry.

Jimmy enjoyed spending time with his family and making new friends, never meeting a stranger. He was a detailed historian and avid storyteller, with vast knowledge of history, ensuring that his children and grandchildren were always proud of their family history.

Jimmy is survived by his sister, Najla Kubba of Dubai, UAE, brother, Farouk Kubba (Michelle) of Laguna Hills, California, children, Susie Mann (Daniel) of Birchwood, TN, Mike Kubba of Cleveland, TN, Ashley Zolezzi (Tom) of California, Granddaughter, Brittany Sorayah Newton (Chris) of Cleveland, TN, and great granddaughters, Sadiya, Emmaline, and Petra Stepp of Cleveland, TN.

The family expresses gratitude to Hospice of Chattanooga - Dayton for their compassion and care.

A private family service will be held at a later date.
