Jessie Hughes

Jessie Hughes, age 79 of Cleveland, departed this life on Saturday, January 8, 2022 at his residence. Born on November 1, 1942 in Tellico Plains to the late Lee and Louise Ann Ramsey Hughes, he lived a majority of his life in Bradley County and served as a Constable of Bradley County. He loved working with people and helping out wherever he was needed. He and worked for Lemons Tile Company for 15 years before starting his 33 year career in Law enforcement helping many people. One of the particular posts he was very proud of was helping stand guard for President Reagan when he visited Athens in 1985. He loved working outside growing his flowers and loved being together with all his family and good friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Robert and Charles Hughes, and sister, Margaret Truelove.
Left behind to cherish Jessie’s memory are his loving wife, Sharon Hughes; children, Charles Alan Hughes and Sandra Lynn Brewer; grandsons, Josh David Brewer (Maria) and Jody Alan Hughes; great-grandchildren, Alaya, Jayden, and Landon; brother, Billy Hughes; sister Shirley Kolhouse; as well as several extended family and a host of friends.
A Graveside service to celebrate the life of Jessie Hughes will be held at 3p.m. Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at Hughes Cemetery with Sammy Hughes officiating.
There will be no formal visitation at the funeral home.
