Jerry Lee King was a loving father, mentor, and an avid NASCAR fan, (if Dale Earnhardt was in the race), enjoyed tending to his mini farm on New Hope Rd, and loving/playing with his babies brought the most joy to his life, 15 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren. He was retired Lieutenant for the City of Cleveland Fire Department, and a veteran of the Tennessee National Guard.
Born in Cleveland to Josephine Ruth Merriman King and Roy Lee King August 9, 1939 siblings include; Darrell King spouse Carolyn, Kenny King spouse Patsy, Alan King spouse Linda, Larry King spouse Beverly, Randy King, and Andrea “Sweetie” Dickerson, along with several nieces and nephews.
Jerry with former spouse; Midge King Hegwood had four children; Rick King, Jeff King children (Heather and Amber), Becky Hillard children (Jonathan and April), and Jen Burnette spouse Kyle children (Monica, and Morgan).
Jerry with former spouse; Janette Johnson King had three step children Sharon Price children (Jamie and Joe), Glen Johnson, Robby Johnson spouse Rhonda children (Rachel and Ryan), and son Scott King spouse Julie children (Striker, Stratton, Spencer, Sawyer, and Emmylou).
A remembrance of life will be held at Companion Funeral Home at 2415 Georgetown Rd on Thursday September 20th from 6pm to 8pm. All family, friends and Jerry’s coworkers from the Cleveland Fire Department are welcome to stop in and share memories.
