Obituary
Jerry Henry "Bud" Stinnett, 71, a resident of Cleveland, TN passed away on Saturday January 4, 2014 at a health care facility in Cleveland, TN. He was born on February 26, 1942 to the late Alfred Henry and Stella Mae Stinnett. He was a lifelong resident of Cleveland and of the Baptist faith. Jerry was a member of Georgetown Baptist Church, where he also served as a deacon. In addition to being heavily involved in his church, he was also a volunteer with Ocoee Outreach. Jerry also enjoyed Gospel Singing and was an avid Basketball and Football fan. He graduated from Polk County High School, where he played Basketball and Baseball, and in his later years, he played church league softball. Above all of these things, however, Jerry was a family man. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.
In addition to his mother and father, Jerry is preceded in death by one brother, Marvin Stinnett. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of 47 years, Clara Collins Stinnett, son Jeff Stinnett, daughter and son-in-law Pam & Kirk Allen, sisters: Leota Rice (Billy), Lucille Shipman (Rev. W.L); brothers: Paul Stinnett, Billy Stinnett (Drucilla), and A.J. Stinnett (Shirlyn), two grandchildren Jake and Jared Allen. In addition to these, he leaves behind several nieces, nephews, and extended family members and friends. The funeral service will be held at 11:00AM on Thursday January 9, 2014 at Georgetown Baptist Church located on Highway 60 in Georgetown, TN with Rev. Jerry Campbell, Rev. W.L. Shipman, Rev. Dan Dockery, and Rev. Earl Farris officiating. The family will receive friends on Wednesday January 8, 2014 from 4:00pm-8:00pm at the church. Interment will follow the service on Thursday at McClanahan Cemetery. Kirk Allen, Tim Ledford, Danny Stinnett, Chris Stinnett, Mike Stinnett, and Nathan Shipman will serve as pallbearers. The men of Georgetown Baptist Church will serve as honorary pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to the Bradley Baptist Association Disaster Relief Fund located at 2707 N Ocoee Street, Cleveland, TN 37312.
