Jerry Dewayne Fugate

Jerry Dewayne Fugate, 59, of Houston, TX and Mossel Bay, South Africa, formerly of Calhoun, TN passed away on January 30, 2019 while on vacation in Hong Kong, with his wife Regina. He was born on February 23, 1959. He graduated from Calhoun High School in 1977, and TN Tech with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He held a master’s degree in business and a licensed professional engineer. He retired from Exxon-Mobile in 2017, after working in the United States, Africa, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea and Norway. He loved to play golf and travel the world and make trips back to Calhoun to visit family and friends. He was dearly loved and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He was of the Baptist faith.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Gordon & Margaret Fugate and his sister, Patricia Richesin.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving wife, Regina Fugate and in-laws Armondo and Martha Perez, all of Houston. He is also survived by sisters Della (Phil) Liner of Charleston, TN, Loretta (Kenny) Purdie of Athens, TN, brothers Beauford (Kathy) Fugate of Riceville, TN, Bobby (Caroline) Fugate & Doug (Carmen) Fugate all of Calhoun, TN, brother in law Hurshel Richesin of Riceville, TN, several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
There will be a celebration of Life on Saturday, March 16, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Council Baptist Church in Charleston, TN. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:00 PM until the 2:00 PM service time on Saturday.
A private burial at Calhoun Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your favorite charity.
