Jennifer McElroy

Jennifer Gail Buckner, 53, of Athens, TN passed away unexpectedly in her home that she resided in on October 8th 2023.

She was from Niota, TN and was born in 1970. She was adopted by parents Avery Eugene Buckner and Ruby Kate Buckner, also having her biological mom Mary Ann Best present in her life.

Jennifer was a beloved mom of two, and a grammy to 5 beautiful grandbabies who she loved with all her heart, and would give everything she had for them. She was beautiful, strong, humble, and always looking at the bright side of things.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Avery Eugene Buckner and Ruby Kate Buckner and is survived by her biological mom, Mary Ann Best; daughters, Katelyn Shianne Buckner, and Jaina Sunshine Medlin; son in laws, Kenny Dean Meadows, and Joseph Randall Medlin; grandkids, Kaelo Carter, Kendyn Meadows, Alora Meadows, Coco Medlin, and Willow Medlin, and best friends, Lisa Womac and Missy Wilcox.

She enjoyed singing to her daughters and grandkids, cooking, and always being the light in the room. She enjoyed the small things like walking around a store, or going riding in the mountains. She loved dancing to Usher and Nelly. She enjoyed having a good time with friends and family, and lived life to the fullest.

Receiving of friends will be held at Companion Funeral home located at 400 S White St, Athens TN 37303 on Thursday, October 12th 2023, between 5-7 p.m. (service to follow).
