Jene Rocky Plemons

Jene Rocky Plemons passed unexpectedly in his sleep on Tuesday, November 26th 2024 at his home in Madisonville, LA.

Rocky grew up in Athens, TN and graduated from MCHS in 1972. He left Athens in the late 1970s to pursue a 45-year career in management with Fluor Construction. He retired in July 2024 as the Sr. VP of Construction Operations having won the most company and industry awards in the history of Fluor.

Rocky was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing in the Gulf of Mexico, hunting and playing golf. He was the star of the Ingleside swimming team and truly was an acrobat on the diving board in his youth. His position with Fluor enabled him to travel and seek adventure all over the world.

Rocky is survived by his wife, Tammy Plemons; his son, daughter-in-law, and granddaughter, Jason, Christin, and Abigail Plemons all of Madisonville, LA. He is also survived by his sister and brother in-law, Melody and Dr Jerry Richt of Cleveland, TN; his brother and sister in-law, Mark and Carol Plemons of Etowah, TN; his sister-in-Law Misty Plemons, and her partner Joseph Grochowski of Gadsen, AL.

Rocky was preceded in death by his parents, Jene and Marion Plemons; and his sisters, Lisa Newman and Laura Plemons, all of Athens.

Visitation will be Friday, December 6th from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at Companion Funeral Home in Athens with services to follow at 1:00. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation in Rocky's memory to Folds of Honor.
