Obituary

JC “Jake” Spurling, 75, a lifelong resident of Athens, TN passed away at his home on Wednesday, November 5th, 2014. He was born on March 18th, 1939 a son of late Carrie and James Spurling. He enjoyed hunting, riding horses, attending church, going to eat, and enjoying the beaches in Florida. Above all things, he loved his family very dearly.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by one brother, Jack Spurling, two sisters, Margaret Vaughn and Jewell Thurman, one son-in-law, Andy Jeffreys, and one grandchild, Jason Jeffreys.

JC leaves behind to cherish his memory, his beloved wife of 57 years, Hazel McConkey Spurling, son James Tracy Spurling, daughters Diane Crye (Ricky), Nina Jeffreys, Lisa Hafley (Shane), sisters Darlene Wade (Jerry), Peggy Wade, nine grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.

The family has elected to have a private memorial service at a later date.
