Jayhue Henry "Jay" Hooper

Jayhue Henry “Jay” Hooper, 85, a resident of Cleveland, TN passed away on Thursday, May 7, 2020 at Erlanger Medical Center. He was born in Guntersville, AL on June 6, 1934 but had made Bradley County his home for most of his life. Jay went to Arnold School and after graduating from Bradley High School went on to vocational school in Chattanooga and received certification in mechanical plumbing and construction. Jay was of the Baptist faith and member of Westwood Baptist Church. He worked at Yates American in Wisconsin and the T & T Plant in Chattanooga, TN. Jay loved farming and fishing in his spare time.
He is preceded in death by his parents Alvin A. Hooper and Thelma Lee Miller Hooper.
Jay leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife Doris Hooper, two daughters Debra L. Hooper and Doris Ann Hooper Golden and husband Douglas, four sons Jay Hugh Hooper, Ronnie V. Hooper and wife Lisa, Phillip Hooper and wife Melissa and Jayson A. Hooper and wife Misty, one brother Billy D. Hooper, fifteen grandchildren, twenty four great grandchildren, aunts and uncles: Dorothy M. Carson of Cleveland, Wayne H. Hooper of Charleston, Alavada Rymer and Joyce Hooper both of Altamont, TN, Loyce Wenton of Guntersville, AL and Betty Sneed Hooper of Cleveland, special relative Monty Bonnie, special friends Don & Patsy Glenn of Memphis, numerous other extended family members and a host of friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorial donations be made is Jay’s memory to the charity of your choice.
