Obituary
Janie Klutz Porter passed away Wednesday, March 7, 2012, at the Hospice of Chattanooga, Standifer Place facility with her children by her side. Mrs. Porter was born May 10, 1930 in Concord, North Carolina, to Mabel Hagler Klutz and Walter Eugene Klutz. After marrying, she and her husband settled in Trenton, GA. Ms. Porter spent the past ten years with her son Buddy, and grandson Jacob, in Rossville, GA.
Mrs. Porter was preceded in death by husbands Robert A. Alexander, Sr., James R. Woolbright, and Wendell E. Porter, her parents, five brothers and three sisters.
She is survived by daughter Bobbie Chambers of Wildwood, GA, son Robert “Buddy” Alexander, Jr. of Rossville, GA, daughter Sarah (Dale) Short of Chattanooga, and son James (Karen) Alexander of Denver, CO, 22 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.
She is additionally survived by her brother Robert C. Klutz of Charlotte, NC, close cousin and best friend Lillian Butler of Concord, NC, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Per Mrs. Porter’s wishes, there will be no services or visitation at the funeral home. Interment will be at Lake Hills Memorial Garden, Trenton, GA, at a later date.
