Janey Isbella Tanksley

Janey Tanksley, 75, a lifelong resident of Cleveland, TN, passed away August 11, 2022, at her residence surrounded by her family. Born April 4, 1947, to the late Pearline Centers and Robert Scoggins. She was a good Christian woman, mother, and mamaw. Janey will be loved and missed.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her Husband of 50 years Donnie Tanksley; brothers, Robert (Caroline) Scoggins and Eddie Scoggins; sisters, Barbara (Melvin) Guffey and Lisa Scoggins; daughter, Janet Tanksley; grandson, Timothy Ryan George.

Survived by her children, Lorri Green, Steve (Teresa) Gates, Chrissy (Troy) George; brothers, Jerry (Joy) Scoggins, Stanley (Peggy) Martin, Bobby (Tammy) Martin, Harold Centers, Jr., Charles (Toni) Scoggins, and Donald (Debbie) Cartwright; sisters, Eleanor (Ken) Daily, Mary Goins, and Judi Dover; grandchildren, Tabitha (Jeremy) Haddock, Shawn (Rebecca) Maxwell, Michael (Brandy) George, Heather (Devin) Sage, and Brenden Gates; 15 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandson; several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM-3:00 PM at Companion Funeral Home, Monday, August 15, 2022, followed by the service in the chapel at 3:00 PM. Pastor Johnny Staton officiating. Burial will be held at Mt. Olive Cemetery with pallbearers Anthony Guffey, Richard Guffey, Bo Maxwell, Joseph Maxwell, Pete Gates, Bryan Maxwell, Hunter West, and Aiden Harris.
