Jane Marie Moody Pettit

Jane Marie Moody Pettit, 84, a lifelong resident of Cleveland, TN passed away on August 23, 2022 after a brave 9 year battle with Parkinson’s. Jane was born on March 4th, 1938 to the late Willie Mae Bradford Moody and George Otis Moody. She was an active member of North Cleveland Baptist Church and served in many roles for over 50 years with the Epsilon Delta Master Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi.

She was a God-fearing woman who faced every moment in life with courage, determination, and resolute faith. She loved gardening and yard work, line dancing, and being involved as much as possible at church. Her peanut butter fudge was legendary and her quick wit was unforgettable. Above all, she loved spending time with her many friends and family. Jane was loved beyond measure and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her mother and father, she is preceded in death by her siblings, Elaine Moody Haven Craddock, Sarah Moody Stinnett, and Dwight Lloyd Moody.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her son, Jeffrey Alan Pettit, and her granddaughter, Laura Jane Pettit.

Jane’s family will receive friends from 10am until 12pm on Saturday, August 27th at North Cleveland Baptist Church with the service beginning at 12pm. She will be laid to rest following her service at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
