Jan Rodriguez

March 18, 1951 — August 11, 2024

Jan Edward Rodriguez, 73, joined the angels in heaven on Sunday August 11, 2024. He was able to be at home with much of his family by his side, which is how he had always hoped it would be. He was married to his beautiful wife Linda (Terrell) Rodriguez for 52 years. They had 2 daughters; Liane, newly engaged to William Collins (Dayton, TN) and Julie, who is married to Jesse Brown (Boaz, AL). He was met in Heaven by his parents (John Rodriguez and Jackie Keown) and his sister (Joann Waters) His remaining siblings are John (Judy) Rodriguez, Joseph (Sandy) Rodriguez, as well as Ann Davis, Charles (Iris) Terrell, and Elaine Holland. He has a plethora of nieces and nephews that he considered his own, and was not just an uncle, but a father figure, a brother, and a friend to them. He treated everyone he knew as if they were his best friend. He had a special way of making any one he met felt loved, and had an infectious smile, laugh, and attitude that would liven any room.

The man could do it all, and his knowledge of sports stats and what he called "useless information" knew no bounds. He could tell you anything you needed to know about the Tennessee Vols or the Atlanta Braves, even games that happened in the 70's. He could take anything you said, and instantly sing a song that was relevant. He loved music. Later in life he had a short run as a singer in a band with his friends, and he loved to tell people that he was a rock star. His favorite activities were golf, being on the lake, spinning tunes when he would moonlight as a DJ, and quite honestly, anything that involved other people. He really lived a great life, and was someone special to everyone he met.

Jan had Neuroendocrine cancer, which is fairly rare, but there are many doctors and patients today working hard to bring light to this disease, and to help provide ways of comfort, as of now there is no cure. If you would like, in lieu of flowers, you can donate to the Healing NET foundation of Nashville, TN in Jan's honor. https://thehealingnet.app.neoncrm.com/np/clients/thehealingnet/donation.jsp
