Obituary

Jan Edgemon Buckner, 57, a longtime resident of Cleveland, TN passed away on Wednesday morning, July 9th, 2014 at her home following a year long illness. Jan was born in Sweetwater, TN December 13th, 1956 a daughter of the late K. G. & Mable Edgemon. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Cleveland. Jan worked for many years as a radiology technologist specializing in mammography where she helped many women through difficult times in their lives. She enjoyed visits from her Bible study group and her many friends.

In addition to her parents, Jan is preceded in death by her daughter Shipley Rose Buckner.

Jan leaves behind to cherish her memory her son Brandon Buckner of Cleveland, TN four sisters and brothers-in-law, Carolyn & Kenneth Barnett of Kingston, TN, Anna Jean & Bobby Roberts of Decatur, TN, Alice & Johnny Powell also of Decatur, TN and Libby & Dave Gregory of Cleveland, TN, one brother and sister-in-law Butch & Debbie Edgemon of Ten Mile, TN. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, numerous other extended family members and a host of special friends.

A celebration of her life is planned for Sunday, July 13th, 2014 at 2:00 PM at the First Baptist Church located at 1275 Stuart Road NE in Cleveland, TN with the Reverend Jim Gibson and Dr. Shane Roberts officiating.

In lieu of flowers the family request that memorials be made to the First Baptist Church Library in Jan’s memory.
