James William "J.W." Hardin

James William “J.W.” Hardin, 73, of Cleveland, TN passed away on March 5, 2017. He was born on July 2, 1943 to the late Bill and Blanche Hardin. J.W. has been a resident of Cleveland for the last 50 years. He was born in Elizabethton, TN. J.W. was a member of New Liberty Baptist Church and he enjoyed being outdoors and deer hunting.

In addition to his mother and father he is preceded in death by his brother Preston Hardin and great granddaughter Isabelle Johnson.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of 53 years Wilda Peels Hardin; son Jason William Hardin; daughters: Regena Hardin Johnson (Roy), Janice Hardin Johnson; brothers Roger Hardin (Linda) and their children; stepbrother Cleve Hardin; special friend and brother Rev. Earl Gentry; sisters: Catherine Nave, her late husband Worley and their children; Penny Carrico, her husband Howell and their children; grandchildren: June and Charlie Barnes, Derick and Sky Johnson, Eric Johnson, Susan Johnson, Hunter Johnson, Gena Johnson, and Christopher Johnson; great grandchildren: Cali Rayburn, Parker Barnes, Kaiya Johnson. In addition to these, he leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members and friends. He was also dearly loved by Madelyn Ivory and her children, Randy and Carla Johnson.

The family will receive friends from 5:00pm until 8:00pm on Thursday March 9, 2017 at Companion Funeral Home located at 2419 Georgetown RD NW, Cleveleand, TN. A celebration of life service will be held on Friday March 10, 2017 at 1:00pm at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
