Obituary for James Tony Lowery

James Tony Lowery, aged 67, passed away peacefully on July 12, 2023, surrounded by his loving family at Parkridge Hospital in Chattanooga, Tennessee. He was born on January 18, 1956, in Chattanooga to James and Betty (Craig) Lowery.

Tony was a man of strong faith and embraced the Baptist tradition. He found immense pleasure in his favorite pastimes of hunting and fishing, and his charismatic nature made him instantly connect with anyone he encountered. Tony was renowned for his captivating storytelling abilities, always having an engaging anecdote to share. He cherished the simple joys of life and treasured the moments spent with his beloved friends and family. Throughout his entire life, Chattanooga remained his cherished hometown.

Tony is survived by his mother, Betty Louise Lowery, who resides in Chattanooga. He leaves behind his adoring daughter, Alyssa Fallon Lowery, residing in Little Rock, Arkansas, and his loving son, Joshua Travis Lowery, residing in Chattanooga. He is also survived by his brother, Robin Lowery, and his wife, Liisa.

Tony was preceded in death by his Father James Matthew Lowery, and Tony’s wife Valerie Kota Lowery whose memories he held close in his soul.

The family will warmly receive friends and well-wishers at a celebration of life to be held on Tuesday, July 18th, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Visitation will begin at 4:00 and service will begin at 5:30. at Pine Ridge Baptist Church. Companion Funeral and Cremation Service, Chattanooga Chapel, have been entrusted with the final arrangements to honor James Tony Lowery's memory.
