James Terry Tate, 56, of Chattanooga, left his earthly body and went to be with Jesus on Friday, January 5, 2018, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on March 22, 1961.
He was preceded in death by his parents Verna Lou (Jones) Tate and Oscar P. Tate, Jr.; one brother, Julian Tate.
He is survived by his son Chance Terry Tate of Soddy Daisy; two brothers, Kenneth (Brenda) Tate of Harrison and Dillon Tate of Chattanooga; three sisters, Alice (Lloyd) Eldridge of Chattanooga, Amanda Tate of Red Bank and Beverly (Marty) Bryant of Chattanooga; and sister-in-law Carolyn Tate of Ringgold. Several nieces and nephews and many other family members and friends.
Terry loved fishing, being outdoors and spending time with his family. He loved making people laugh, never met a stranger and had many lifelong friends.
John 14:6 “Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
2 Timothy 4:7-8 "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing."
