James Robert Thurman, Jr.

James Robert Thurman, Jr., 59, a lifetime resident of Cleveland, TN passed away on Tuesday, October 15, 2019 at his home in Cleveland, TN. On Sunday mornings, Jamey was proud to take his Dad to church in his red corvette and loved sitting by him for worship. He was a master gun collector, enjoyed fishing and just being outdoors. Jamey was a motorcycle and car enthusiast. He loved to drive his Corvette, ride his Harley and enjoyed time with his friends. Family was important to Jamey and he was loved dearly by them. It was recently said of him that he was a great example of work hard and play hard. “If you’re going to do something, go all the way”.
Jamey was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. James Robert “Bob” and Ann S. Thurman. Left behind to cherish his memory are his sisters Ann Clayton(Doug) of Grand Junction, CO, Trisha Nason(Jay) of Kingston, TN, Christy Gardner(Kevin) of Cleveland, TN, Cindy Locklear(Clint) of Dunlap, TN and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and friends.
The family will be receiving friends on Sunday, October 20, 2019 from 2-3PM at Central Church of Christ in Cleveland, TN, with the graveside service,open to all, to follow at Lee Cemetery in McDonald, TN. Brother-in-law Doug Clayton will officiate.
