James Taylor, 90, of Bradley County, passed away April 17, 2020, after a short battle with cancer. He attended Charleston High School and retired from U S Stove, of Chattanooga. He also served as Deputy Sheriff & Rescue Squad of Meigs County. James enjoyed gardening, westerns, working on lawn mowers and sitting in the swing with his dog, Jack.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Martha Farris Taylor and Marshal Taylor; brother, Joe Taylor; sisters, Bernice Wade, Elizabeth Swallows; mother of his children, Olaree Messer; special friend, Wanda Hicks.
Survived by his daughters, Diane (Jerry) Neely and Wanda Wheeler, both of Cleveland, TN; son, Jimmy (Sherry) Taylor, of Charleston, TN; brother, Johnny (Beverly) Taylor; grandchildren, David (PeeWee) Neely, Kelly Ledford, Shane Lawson, Nick Lawson, Adam Taylor, Brandon Wheeler and Savannah Taylor; great-grandchildren, Mallory, Madeline, Morgan Ledford, Layne & Lauren Lawson, Katie Neely, Elissa Lawson; 2 great-great grandchildren, Konnor and Kaiden Lawson; several nieces and nephews and friends.
A private burial will be held at Cofer Cemetery.
