James Robert Barrett

James Robert “Jim” Barrett, 81, a resident of Athens, TN passed away on Thursday, May 12, 2022 in a local hospital. He was born in Perth Amboy, NJ on June 8, 1941 a son of the late Eugene & Genevieve Barrett. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Athens, TN and a longtime member of Knights of Columbus.
In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by one son in law Sean Deeds, two brothers and two sisters.
Jim leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife of 55 years Patricia “Pat” Barrett, two daughters Kathleen Deeds and Jennifer Harmon, one son James Robert Barrett Jr., three grandchildren Lyndsey, Jenna and R.J., six great grandchildren Emma, Charlotte, Asher, Kenzie, Ezra and Paige, three sisters Susan Gryzb (Walter), Carol Riley, and Genevieve Bagnell (Joseph), numerous other extended family members, church family and a host of special friends.
A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, May 18, 2022 at 11:00 AM at St. Mary Catholic Church in Athens, TN. There will be no formal visitation.
