James Ray Cox, 75, of Crandall, GA, passed in a Chattanooga Hospital November 7, 2021. He was of the Baptist faith and a member of Boanerges Baptist Church. James loved camping, hunting, sports, and campfires. He loved his family, and friends, working, and helping his friends and family. James had a heart of generosity for everyone and a heart full of love. He loved the Lord and was brave through all his journey’s that life held for him. He loved life and everything life had to offer. Ray lived life to the fullest. Ray will be missed but we know he is with the Lord.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Ann Cox; father, Luke Cox; sister-in-law, Dimple Cox; brother-in-law, Jack Stamper.
Survived by his loving wife of 11 ½ years, Connie Cox; Sons, Jamie (Raven) Cox, Adam Beard, and Buck (Ashley) Beard; daughter, Nadene (Jeff) Hanies; grandchildren, Erika (Jerry) Wells, Gage Goins, Denver Beard, Austin Beard, Brooke Hanies, William Hanies, Daniel Hanies, Shyla Beard, Leah Keith, River Beard, Layla Beard, and M.J. Beard; great-grandchildren, Athena Wells; brothers, Robert (Bob) Cox and wife Joann and DL Cox; sisters, Jane Stamper and Elaine Skelton and her husband Jerry; uncle, Jim Cox; special friends, Marvin Tanskley, Sharon Lyles, Mike and Vickie Stinnett; several nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.
Military honors will begin at 4:30 PM and the family will receive friends from 5:00 PM-7:00 PM, Thursday, November 11, 2021, at Boanerges Baptist Church, followed by a service with Pastor Curt Thompson and Pastor David Disney officiating.
