James Larry King

James Larry King, 67, a resident of Decatur, TN and formally of McMinn County passed away on Sunday, January 14, 2018 at his home. He was born in Athens, TN January 6, 1951 a son of the late Leonard and Mary Visage King. Larry loved spending time outdoors hunting and fishing. He was of the Baptist faith and a member of Mt. Harmony Baptist Church # 2.

In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by one brother Randy King, one sister Millie King and one daughter in law Clarissa Bidwell.

Larry leaves behind to cherish his memory one daughter Ashleigh Moses (James), three sons Cliff King (Blossom) of Hearld, CA, James Bidwell and Michael King (Michelle), two sisters Linda Brown (Ed) and Brenda King Vance (Vic), four brothers Paul King, Rick King (Mary), Roger King and Tony Travers, ten grandchildren Brittany King, Colby King, Tyler Bidwell, Jacob Bidwell, Chase Bidwell, Cody King, Heather King, Heath King, Jenna King and Haley Moses, one great-grandchild, Blaine Bidwell, special friend Sharon Hood, numerous other extended family members and a host of special friends.

A celebration of his life is planned for Thursday night, January 18, 2018 at 7:00 PM in the chapel of Companion Funeral Home of Athens located at 400 S White Street with the Reverend Garry King officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 5:00 PM until the 7:00 PM service time.

The interment and committal service will take place on Friday morning, January 19th, 2018 at 11:00 AM in the Upper Spring Creek Cemetery with Mike King, Richie King, T.C. Fischer, Chuckie Fischer, Tristan Fischer, Boonie Ricker and James Moses serving as pallbearers.
