James L. Jones Jr.

James L Jones Jr, 79 a resident of Cleveland, passed away August 5, 2023, at his home surrounded by his loving family. James was known in the community as a hard worker and businessman who always had a smile. He owned Jay Two Manufacturing with this father (James L Jones, Sr.) and later owned Clearwater Pools, along with several other small businesses. He prided himself on doing business honestly and fairly. In his early years he was an avid off-road motorcycle rider but later in life loved staying busy working on projects, traveling, fishing, and being with his family. His philosophy in life was God comes first, family is second and everything else comes third. James was a giving and selfless man who always took care of his family. He was most proud of his family and their accomplishments versus his own in life. He was a member of East Side Church of Christ, was very loved and will be missed by everyone who had the honor of knowing him.

He is preceded in death by his father James L Jones Sr, one son Jeffery Jones, granddaughters Jessica and Kristin Jones and grandson Keith Wilbanks.

Left to carry on his memory is his loving wife of 61 years, Linda Jones, his mother Evelyn Jones, children Twila Jones, Scott (Linda) Jones, Tiffany (Kris) Overton, and Tammy (Tommy) Shubert, daughter in law Doris Jones , sister Patricia Harden, grandchildren Dawn Wilbanks, Blake Swafford, Jake (Katie) Swafford, and Dylan Swafford, Aubrey (Daniel) Holley, Thomas Shubert, Laura (David) Baxter, and Caleb (Reanna) Jones. Great Grandchildren Lainey, Javen, Bella, and Finley Baxter, Nova and Everleigh Jones, Jaxson Long, along with several cousins, aunts, uncles and friends.

James family will receive friends from 2:00pm until 4:30pm on Tuesday August 8th at the Cleveland Chapel of Companion Funeral Home with a Celebration of Life Service to follow at 4:30pm. He will be laid to rest following the service at Lee Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be his sons-in-law, Kris Overton and Tommy Shubert, grandsons, Blake Swafford, Jake Swafford, Dylan Swafford, Thomas Shubert, Caleb Jones and David Baxter.
