James “Jimmy” Tipton, Jr., 61 of Ooltewah, TN took his final breath in the Carpet Capital of the World, Dalton, GA on May 19, 2021 alone due to epilepsy.
He finally went to party with his wife Ariane Tipton; father Arnell Tipton; mother Shirley Amelunke; stepfather Hubert Amelunke; father-in-law Robert Jenkins; mother-in-law Nancy Jenkins and many others.
Jimmy was born in Jonesville, Louisiana on Dec. 20, 1959 where the sun was hot, humidity was high, where racism and slavery still existed just not in his house. He grew up with loving parents who actively participated in his mischievous ways and 4 sisters who taught him how to deal with the complicated women God put in his near future. Jimmy excelled at baseball and football and luckily passed his athletic genes down to his 2 daughters. He was a jack of all trades. He could build and fix anything, he could “Jimmy Rig it”. He could organize the trash like it was an Olympic game. His gumbo had you slapping yo’ mama, his homemade wine had you thinking there was a drive by. If you ever needed a pencil or a peppermint his coveralls had everything you ever needed. His thumb was green and could grow all your medicinal needs. He was there to carry the bat bag, to pump the gas, to take the trash out, to teach you how to do it yourself, or to pick up the stray animal. He could make you laugh, cry, and tell some great stories. He was a Jimbo, a Papa Jimmy, a Papa Turtle, a pain in the butt, and a friend to many.
He will be greatly missed and will hopefully be seen saying “Quit that hollerin” while fishing and sipping a cold one by his Angel Baby, aka Angel Weldon and her dime piece Rodney Smith and their two chitlins Brayden & Dravon Weldon; Lil’ Bit, aka Allana Tipton-Stancill and her main squeeze Keith Stancill and their two kiddos Aspen Tipton-Williams & Bryan Stancill; Loving and Caring Sisters and their families; Donna Tipton Morace & Patrick Grayson, Lori Tipton Burchard & Paul Burchard Jr., Misty Tipton & Carl Olds, Mindy Tipton Burts & Hugh Burts, Jr.; Brother-in-laws Robbie & Ricky Jenkins, Sister-in-law Luanne Hurst and their families.
Join us for a celebratory farewell visitation Friday 5-8 PM at Companion Funeral & Cremation Service before he gets his smokin’ hot body to be with his wife, because he urn’ed it!
You are invited to share a personal memory of Jimmy or your condolences with his family at his online memorial located at www.companionfunerals.com. Companion Funeral & Cremation Service and the Cody family are honored to assist the Tipton Family with these arrangements.
