James "Jerry" Clark Jr.

June 4, 1944 — December 18, 2018

James “Jerry” Clark, Jr.. 74, passed away at a local hospice on Tuesday, December 18, 2018. He was born in Ringgold, GA, and lived his adult life in Chattanooga. He was a 1962 graduate of Lakeview High School and a veteran of the U.S. Army Reserves. As a young man, Jerry competed in bodybuilding competitions and won the titles of Mr. Chattanooga and Mr. Tennessee. In his lifetime, he was employed as a realtor, was a former President of the Northwest Georgia Board of Realtors, was owner of Seahorse Pools, and bred prize winning show horses at his farm, Seahorse Farms. Jerry loved people and he loved horses, and nothing made him happier than bringing them together. He competed in racking horse competitions and won numerous awards. He served as President of the Catoosa County Saddle Club, and was always committed to its success. His other passion was the National Racking Horse Association. Jerry was a Board Member, served as Chairman of the Board, and President. He was also President of the Choo Choo Chapter of the National Racking Horse Association. He is preceded in death by his parents, James Ernest Clark, Sr. and Christine Drake Clark, and his brother-in-law Michael Brannon. He is survived by his son, Chadwick (Bill) Clark, sister, Joyce Brannon, nephews Jason (Amber) and Greg (Mary) Brannon, lady-friend, Robbie Schulte, and his best friend of 65 years, Jerry Daniels. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, December, 29, 2018, at 1:00 p.m. at Grace Works church, 6445 Lee Hwy, Chattanooga, Pastor Bill Owens officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Chattanooga or the American Cancer Society.
