James Henley Cross

Obituary
James Cross, 76, a resident of Charleston, TN passed away in Hixson, TN on Tuesday, May 21st, 2013 at a local hospital. James was born in Johnson City, TN on April, 23rd, 1937 a son of the late William & Frances Cross. He was of the Baptist faith and attended North Cleveland Baptist Church. He worked locally for many years at Brown Stove Works, Hardwood Frames of America, & Cross Shavings. He also served in the Navy for 4 years on the U.S.S. Bryce Canyon.
In addition to his parents, James is preceded in death by one son William James Cross III.
James leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife of 50 years, Wilma Cross, one daughter Carrie Cross, extended daughter Amy Pickering Hayes, one brother Lynn Cross (Darlene) of Cleveland, one sister Kay Cross of Portland, Maine, one niece Brandi Burns (Terry), three nephews Karl Keasler (Angelia), Zachary Cross (Jessica), and Patrick Cross, five aunts Betty Morrow, Joyce Dantzler, Jean McDonald (Charles), Hazel Hughes, Mattie Cartwright (Elmer), two uncles John Morrow (Mary), Haskel Morrow (Betty), and special friends Dewayne & Judy Hooper and Pete & Phyllis Blackwell.
The family will receive friends on Thursday afternoon, May 23rd, 2013 from 1:00PM until 3:00PM at North Cleveland Baptist Church located at 2815 N. Ocoee St. in Cleveland, TN 37312. A memorial service will follow at 3:00PM with Dr. Jay McCluskey officiating.
A graveside service will take place immediately following the service at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Brandon McDonald, Zachary Cross, Alan Colloms, Bobby DeLay, Lee Glover, DeWayne Morrow.
