James David Fletcher (Bubba), 41, of Athens, TN, beloved father, brother, and friend, gained his wings on January 28, 2024.
James was born September 24, 1982 in Valdez Alaska. He spent his childhood there before moving to Tennessee as an adult.
He spent most of his time with his family and friends and he loved being a dad to his 3 boys. Him and the boys spent many days out at the pond or river fishing together. He was also very into sports; basketball, wrestling, college football. He played basketball & wrestled during his Middle and high school years. He was an incredible athlete and won many wrestling tournaments as well as his basketball team placing in tournaments. He was a caring, big hearted person. If you needed help, he was always there for you.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather Jim Fletcher and parents David and Teresa Fletcher.
He is survived by his three sons, Brayden & Sawyer Fletcher and Brently Kidd; His sister’s and brother in law’s April & Jimmy Givens and Jennifer & Michael Brown; brother Matt Fletcher; Maternal Grandfather and grandmother, Ken & Glenda Barnes; nieces, Madison, Alyssa and Emma Brown; nephews, Logan & Cody Vaughn, Shooter and Jesse Givens; and many cousins, aunts and uncles.
There are many hearts that were touched by him and he will be greatly missed by his family and friends

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2024 at 2:00 pm at Companion Funeral Home of Athens, 400 S. White St, Athens TN 37303. The family will be receiving friends prior to the service from 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm. Family and friends are welcome to attend a short graveside service at Beulah Chapel Church of The Nazarene, 270 County Road 231, Niota TN 37826 immediately following the funeral.
