Jim McKinney, age 71 of Cleveland, departed this life on Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at his residence. Born on February 11, 1950 to the late Clarence and Eva Lee Cross McKinney, he was a native and lifelong resident of Bradley County and a member of Parkway Baptist Church. Jim served his country in the United States Army and was retired from TVA after 20 plus years of service. He was active in the local Elks Lodge, Masonic Lodge, and the Sons of the American Revolution
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Glover “David” McKinney; and his brother-in-law. Quinton Goins.
Left behind to cherish Jim’s memory are his loving wife of 49 years, Janet Poe McKinney; sons, James E. McKinney, Jr(Chrissy), Joseph E. McKinney(Ramona),and Jacob E. McKinney (Shawnda); grandchildren, Lauren, Ainsley, Mason, Rowyn, Reuben, and Randall; sister, Joyce Goins; as well as several extended family and a host of friends.
A Celebration of Life and Home going for James “Jim” Ervin McKinney, Sr. will be held at 6p.m. Sunday, February 13, 2022 at Parkway Baptist Church with Pastor Joe White officiating.
Graveside services with military honors will be held at 11 am on Monday, February 14, 2022 at Lebanon Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 4 pm until the funeral hour on Sunday at the church.
