Obituary
James Edward Placek, 66, a resident of Knoxville, TN passed away on Sunday, November 4, 2012. James was born on January 14, 1946 in Evanston, IL a son of the late Edward Henry Placek. James had made Knoxville his home for the past 12 years moving there from Cleveland, TN. James was a veteran of the United States Army having served his country during the Vietnam War and receiving the Marksman medal and also the Purple Heart. After his honorable discharge from the Army James when on to work and retire from the Nestle Foods Corporation.
In addition to his father, James is preceded in death by one brother Richard Placek.
James leaves behind to cherish his memory his mother Delores Placek of Knoxville, TN, two sons and daughter-in-laws James & April Placek of Henderson, NV and Kevin & Cindy Placek of Cleveland TN, six grandchildren Kyler, Karli, Ashlynn and Kash Placek all of Henderson NV and Chantz and Chandlar Placek of Cleveland TN, and numerous other extended family members and friends.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, November 8, 2012 at 2:00 PM at the Chattanooga National Cemetery with Military Honors.
