James Edward Leamon Sr., 89, of Cleveland, TN passed away on June 28, 2018. He was born on May 26, 1929 to the late Charles and Myna Bell Leamon. James was a lifelong resident of Bradley and McMinn County. He was currently a member of Lebanon Baptist Church but was a charter member of Tasso Memorial Baptist Church. He loved beekeeping, farming, gardening, antiques, and carpentry. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, serving in the Korean War and WWII, stationed in Guam.
In addition to his mother and father, he is preceded in death by two sons: James E. Leamon Jr. and George Wrandle Leamon; sister Viola Painter of Cleveland; brothers Henry Leamon of Riceville, Robert Leamon of McMinn County, and Daniel Leamon of Bradley County.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of 69 years Katherine Leamon; daughter Katherine “Betty” Kincaid (Kenneth) of Charleston, TN; sister Martha Dilbeck of Cleveland; grandchildren: Sara Brown (Josh), Jason Kincaid (Holly), James E. Leamon III (Beth), Katie Beth Leamon, and Levi Leamon (Nichole). In addition to these, he leaves behind seven great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends 2:00pm until 4:00pm on Saturday June 30, 2018 at Companion Funeral Home located at 2419 Georgetown RD NW, Cleveland, TN 37311. A celebration of life service will be held at 4:00pm with Rev. Billy Denham officiating. Interment will follow the service at Calhoun Cemetery.
