James Douglas “Poppadaddy” Duncan, 90 a resident of Cleveland passed away at his residence on Thursday night, December 13, 2012. James was born in Nashville TN on April 5, 1922 a son of the late Delma and Donis Duncan. James was of the Baptist faith and had moved to make Cleveland his home approximately six years ago from Bartow, FL.
In addition to his parents, James is preceded in death by his wife Elizabeth Lehning Duncan, three sisters Ruth Chitwood, Maxine Earps, and Louise Duncan, and one brother Forrest Duncan.
“Poppadaddy” leaves behind to cherish his memory two daughters Donis Jacobson (Ted) of Fancy Gap, VA and Linda Rothwell of Akron, OH, his granddaughter and caregivers Hollie & Philip Strickland, four additional grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, and numerous other extended family members and friends.
The family will hold a private memorial and interment at a later date.
