James David "J.D." Stansberry

James David Stansberry (J.D.), age 74, went home to be with the Lord after a long and courageous battle with cancer on June 27, 2018. He was born in Charleston, TN on November 5, 1943, the son of the late Dewey and Leona Stansberry. JD was a well-known car dealer in the area for over 50 years. He was a member of the Unity Church of God for over 40 years. He was always willing to help people in need and had a great number of friends. He sold used cars locally for over 50 years. His hobbies included building muscle cars and the amateur archelogy of local Native Americans.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two sisters Ruby Thomas and Evelyn Burris and five brothers Lee Stansberry, Ken Stansberry, Bobby Stansberry,Tom Stansberry and Gene Stansberry.

He leaves behind two sons Tyler and Joshua Stansberry in addition to one grandson, Christian Stansberry. Also to honor and cherish his memory, he leaves behind one brother, Donnie Stansberry and two sisters, Barbara Burris and Nancy Sneed, special friend Mike Brown and numerous other extended family members along with a host of special friends. A special thank you to his neighbor Allen Martin and nephew Jeff Stansberry for their help to J. D. over the years.

A celebration of his life is planned for Sunday, July 1, 2018 at 3:30 PM at Unity Church of God located at 3144 Fulbright Road in Cleveland TN with Pastor David Rose officiating. Interment will follow in the Sunset Memorial Gardens with Chris Shope, Danny Marr, David Jones, Dennis Geren, Mike Brown & Christain Stansberry serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends on Sunday afternoon at the church from 1:30 PM until the 3:30 PM service time.

In lieu of flowers the family reqest that memorial donations be made to St. Judes Children Research Hospital in J.D.’s memory.
