James Christopher "Chris" Crowder

James Christopher “Chris” Crowder, 45, a resident of Englewood, TN formally of Tellico Plains, TN passed away on Tuesday evening, January 28, 2020 at his home. He was born on March 11, 1974 in Maryville, TN. Chris was a member of Allen Memorial Methodist Church in Athens, TN. He was a retired law enforcement officer.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents James N. Crowder and Bobbie Sue Bates Crowder.
Chris leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife Martha Chastain Crowder, one son James Blake Crowder, parents Tim & Sue Walker, two brothers Gerald Scott Kirkland and his wife Savannah, and Nathan Walker, numerous other extended family members and a host of special friends.
The family will receive friends on Monday, February 3, 2020 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM in the Athens chapel of Companion Funeral Home located at 400 S White Street. A memorial service will follow the visitation time at 7:00 PM on Monday evening with the Reverend Charla Sherbakoff officiating.
Honorary pallbearers will include Neil Turpin, Marty Jenkins, Magan Shaw and Allen Morris.
