James Cecil Watson, 85, a life long resident of McMinn County passed away on Wednesday, December 11, 2019 at a local health care facility. James was a used car dealer in McMinn County for many years. He had a passion for cars especially antiques. James loved watching NASCAR, Wrestling, and University of Tennessee Football and Basketball. James is preceded in death by his parents, Alton and Vaudie Watson, four brothers, Buck Watson, Hubert Watson, William Watson, and Walter Watson. He is also preceded by one sister, Edith Blankenship. Left to cherish his memory, one daughter Debbie (Jim) Blair, one son, Rick Watson and girlfriend Shirley Thomas, grandsons, Chris (Kim) Blair, and Josh (Melissa) Blair, great-grandchildren, Jamison, Braden, Kinley, and Madilynn Blair. Several nieces, nephews, other extended family members and friends also survive. A celebration of life service will be held on Friday, December 13, 2019 at 11:00 AM in the Athens Chapel of Companion Funeral Home with Rev. Ted Clowers officiating. Family and friends will proceed to McMinn Memory Gardens following the 11:00 AM service for the graveside service.
