James Edward Boone, Jr., passed away Monday, August 19, 2024 peacefully in his home surrounded by family. James was born in Poughkeepsie, New York on June 22, 1948 to Gladys E. Mallory and James E. Boone.
James served in the United States Army. He was injured during battle and received the Purple Heart for his service.
James was an accomplished musician to numerous concerts and functions from New York to Atlanta working with various artist such as Willie Nelson, Major Lane and Frankie Beverly.
He would tell you that the highlight of his career was in 1998 collaborating with the love of his life, Joyce M. Fletcher, on the Walt Disney recognized and funded children's production "Once Upon A Princess".
James is preceded in death by his parents and three siblings; Gloria, Beverly and Ricky.
Left to cherish his memories are his fiancee- Joyce Fletcher; son, Gregory Maurice Boone; brothers, Wayne (Juliet), John and Stevie; sister, Terri; 8 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; extended family and friends; LaSheena Fletcher and Dale Mason, Rodney and Diana Billups, Randolph and Roseanne Thomas, Tommy and Wilma Wills, Harry Cousins, Ellery Murphy, Loretta and Charles Coleman.
Graveside services are Monday, August 26, 2024 at 1:00pm at the Chattanooga National Cemetery, Rodney Billups officiating
