James Baldwin

James Baldwin, 85, a lifelong resident of Cleveland, TN passed away on Friday afternoon, January 15th, 2016 in a local hospital. James was born on September 9th, 1930 in Chattanooga Tennessee a son of the late Claude & Daisy Baldwin. He was of the Christian faith. James worked until retirement as a local electrical contractor. He was an honorable discharged veteran of the United States Army after faithfully serving his country. James enjoyed sharing breakfast with his friends each morning at local restaurants such Cameron's and The Waffle House.
In addition to his parents, James is preceded in death by one sister Joyce Davis.
James leaves behind to cherish his memory one son Eddie Baldwin and his wife Marie of Old Fort, TN, two daughters Kathy Simpson and her husband Doug and Erica Ferry and her husband Ricky, eight grandchildren Jason Baldwin, Nicole Baldwin, Kristy Wright (Zack), Casey Henry (Wayne), Cameron Ferry, Conner Ferry, Cody Ferry and Richard Mason, four great grandchildren, his companion Kaye Posey, special friends Jeff McDowell, Rod Davis, Dudley Lawson Jim Winters and Charlie Belt, numerous other extended family members and many friends.
A celebration of James life is planned for Thursday night, January 21st, 2016 at 7:00 PM in the chapel of Companion Funeral Home located at 2419 Georgetown Road NW in Cleveland, TN. The family will receive friends on Thursday afternoon from 5:00 PM until the 7:00 PM service time.
The interment and committal service will take place on Friday morning, January 22nd, 2016 at 11:30 AM in the Chattanooga National Cemetery and will conclude with full military honors.
