James Arlen Meeks

James Arlen Meeks Sr, 91, a lifelong resident of Cleveland, passed away Monday September 11, 2017. James loved fishing, football, boxing, and going to the Smoky Moutains with his kids. He was also a very skilled upholster.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Ruth; father and mother, John and Bonnie; grandfather, Luke Brown "Daddy Brown"; brothers, Bill Kelly, Jack Kelly, and Franklin Cavitt; sister; Virginia Stevison.

Survived by his brothers, Jerry Cavitt; Dickie Cavitt; children, James Meeks Jr., Shirlene (Mickey) Hewitt, Mitchell (Patricia) Meeks. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren.

there will be a celebration of life service saturday September 16th at 4pm at the Companion Chapel. the family will receive friends from 2pm until 4pm.
