James Arlen Meeks

James “Jimmy” Meeks, Jr., 77, a lifelong resident of Cleveland, TN, passed away on January 15, 2022. He was born on April 9, 1944, to the late James and Ruth Meeks. Jimmy was an Army veteran and loved the military. He enjoyed gathering around the table with friends and family and loved a free meal or a good bargain. He loved listening to Elvis music, going on walks, camping, and fishing. He has also been going to Gatlinburg with the same group of people for over 40 years.

In addition to his parents, Jimmy is preceded in death by his wife, Deloris Meeks; brother, Mitchel Meeks; stepdaughters, Pam and Vickie Poole; stepson, Mickey Poole.

Left to cherish his memory is his son, Jimmy Meeks (Kelly); daughter, Tonya Meeks; stepdaughter, Kim Page; sister, Shirlene Hewitt (Mickey); grandchildren, Jace Cameron Meeks, Kalyn Meeks, Destany Orr, Courtney Clark, Mickey White, Joel Millaway, David Poole, Kristie Roberts, Shannon Rodrigues, JR Page, Hope Page; great-grandchildren, Ryleigh Meeks, Spencer Orr, Lashae Clark, and Kinzlee Clark; as well as several step great-grandchildren.

A celebration of James life will be held at 7 PM on Wednesday, January 26 at Companion Funeral Home Cleveland Chapel with a visitation starting at 5 PM until the 7 PM service.
