It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Jaime Michele Parker, a beloved mother, friend, and community member, who passed away on November 21, at the age of 48. Jaime was a person who embodied love, kindness, and inclusivity, always ready to help others with a heart full of generosity and compassion.
A proud Sergeant in the Army Reserves, Jaime dedicated her life to service and leadership. She later went on to become the personnel manager at Walmart, where her warm spirit touched the lives of those around her. Her passion for helping others continued throughout her life, and she pursued higher education at Lee University, where she earned a Master's degree in Psychology and Counseling.
Following her education, Jaime became an integral part of the educational community. She worked at Clifton Hills Elementary as a Technology Teacher and at East Lake Elementary as a School Counselor, where her nurturing spirit and dedication to children made a lasting impact.
Outside of her professional life, Jaime was a passionate volunteer for Belly Rubs Basset Hounds, where she worked tirelessly to help dogs find loving homes. Over the years, she adopted several cherished Basset Hounds, each one a beloved companion.
Jaime had an innate artistic and creative flair, which she shared with everyone she met. She loved to entertain and was happiest when surrounded by family and friends, bringing joy and laughter into every gathering. Her legacy is one of warmth, creativity, and unwavering dedication to the people and causes she loved.
She is survived by her husband Joseph David Parker; children Talmage Gentry and Bailey Gentry; mother Mary Page; sisters Stephanie Mathis (Patrick) and Kathleen Hoppel; Ana Alves and Tommy Page; as well as aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. She too will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
A celebration of Jaime's life will be held on Wednesday, November 27. Please contact the family for location, where family and friends are invited to honor her memory. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation or to Belly Rubs Basset Hounds.
Jaime's kindness, strength, and love will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate to know her.
