Jack Morgan Jr.

June 17, 1947 — February 28, 2024

Jack Morgan passed away at home with family on February 28th following his beloved wife, Sarah Morgan, and son, Robert Morgan. He was also preceded by his parents Jack Morgan Sr. and Bridgett "Thurman" Morgan, and his siblings Joeann Stinnett and Jerry Morgan.

He was survived by the following: John Morgan, Kira Ashley, Michael Morgan, Jimmy Morgan, Rose Morgan, and Daniel Wyrick Morgan. His other brothers are Eddie Morgan, George Morgan, and Charolette Brock. His grandchildren were Megan Morgan, Nicole Morgan, Kendra Bond, Mysti Housley, Logan McAbee, and Austyn Jewell. His great grandchildren are Owen Thompson. Archer Bond, and Lennox Bond.

In life, he was as stubborn as an Ox and twice as tough. He was also fiercely independent and preferred doing everything himself, and from mechanics to plumbing, he had the knowledge to back it up. He also loved telling stories from his long, eventful life, such as how he used to play bass in church and fly planes. He was fond playing pranks on family and friends to make them laugh and smile. Above all, one of his favorite things to do was play poker. He was a skilled player as well and pulled no punches when playing with family, and he's probably still robbing people blind up in heaven.

To summarize, the best way to describe Jack Morgan is as a man as headstrong as a goat, sturdy as an oak, and a heart as bright as pure gold. He had endless love for his family and gave up much to help support them and would've given up so much more. Especially for his grandkids, whom he was a second father to many of them. He will be missed deeply by everyone who knew him, and the world has darkened without him.

You are encouraged to share a memory of Jack and/or your personal condolences with his family by visiting his memorial webpage and guestbook at www.companionfunerals.com. Companion Funeral Home of Athens is honored to assist his family with these arrangements.
