Irene Johnson Crabtree

Irene Crabtree, 83, a lifelong resident of Athens, TN passed away on Thursday night, March 8, 2018 at a local health care facility. Irene was born in McMinn County on September 7, 1934 a daughter of the late Arlie and Maggie Johnson. She was of the Baptist faith. She will be most remembered for the love she had for her family.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Ralph Crabtree, one son Carey Junior Crabtree, an infant brother and a son in law Joel Parham.
Irene leaves behind to cherish her memory her daughter June Parham, one son Michael O. Crabtree and wife Kelly, two grandchildren Wyatt Crabtree and Nora Crabtree, two brothers Lloyd Johnson (Betty) and Olen Johnson (Caroline), adopted daughter Margaret Henry, numerous other extended family members and a host of special friends.
A celebration of her life is planned for Saturday, March 10, 2018 at 12:00 PM in the chapel of Companion Funeral Home located at 400 S White Street in Athens, TN. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday morning, 10:30 AM until the 12:00 PM service time. Interment will follow in the McMinn Memory Gardens.
