Ida "Faye" Goins May

Ida “Faye” Goins May went to be with her Lord and Savior on May 14, 2021 after an extended illness. Faye was born in Cleveland, Tennessee on August 27, 1940 to the late Creed and Vennie Rayfield Goins. Faye lived in Cleveland most of her life. She lived for 15 years in Statesville, North Carolina, and was a retired administrator for Iredell-Statesville Schools, where she made many dear, life-long friends. Faye and her late husband loved listening to southern gospel music and attending camp meetings when they were able. Faye supported missionaries and enjoyed helping people in need. She cherished spending time with family and friends .Faye adored butterflies, beautiful flowers, and pictures or figurines of old country churches. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 49 years, William “Bill” R. May, her brothers Gene (Barbara) Goins, J.C. Goins (Billie Goins Ledford), and her son Ron Morrison. Remaining to cherish her memory are her brothers Homer Goins, Gerald (Margaret) Goins, her children Teresa (Darrell) Raby, Linda Morrison, Rick (Christie) May of Union Grove, North Carolina, her grandchildren Jared (Kimberly) Morrison of Stratford, Oklahoma, Anne Raby of Durango, Colorado, Amanda Raby, Roman Tatarinowicz of Memphis, Tennessee, Seth (Taryn) Tatarinowicz, Cheyenne May, Bailey May, Logan May, 7 great-grandchildren, and many other family and friends.The family would like to give special thanks to Hearth Hospice, Helping Hands Caregiver Melony Sloan, and Faye’s daughter Linda Morrison for their great care during her illness. A Celebration of Life and Home going for Ida Faye Goins May will be at 4p.m. Sunday, May 23, 2021 from the Cleveland Chapel of Companion Funeral Home with Reverend David Gray officiating. Interment will follow in Flint Springs Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 2-4p.m. on Sunday prior to the service at the funeral home.
