Obituary

Howard E. Allmon, 81, a lifelong resident of Cleveland went to be at home with his Heavenly Father on Sunday night, May 25th, 2014 from his home surrounded by his family. Howard was born in Athens, TN on January 16, 1933 a son of the late John Henry Dewey and Martha Ellen Allmon. Howard was an honorably discharge veteran of the United States Army after faithfully serving his country. He was retired from Combustion Engineering of Chattanooga and was member of the local Boilermaker’s Union. Howard attended the Family Worship Center of Cleveland. He above all loved his family and cherished spending time with them.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by two sisters Beatrice Marshall and Thelma Gates and three brothers Herman, Charles and Robert “Bobby” Allmon.

Howard leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving and devoted wife of sixty two years Nancy Denton Allmon, six children Steven Allmon of Etowah, TN, Gary Allmon and wife Pat, Susan Allmon Ramsey and husband Joe, Kelley Allmon, Tim Allmon and wife Kim and Jennifer Cansler all of Cleveland, eleven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. He is also survived by numerous other extended family members, church family and a host of special friends.

A celebration of his life is planned for Thursday, May 29th, 2014 at the Family Worship Center located at 4271 Dalton Pike SE in Cleveland, TN at 11:00 AM with the Pastor Isaac Walker officiating. Interment will follow in the Hillcrest Memorial Gardens with Matt Allmon, Mark Allmon, Andrew Allmon, James Allmon, Michael Waldroup, Harold Jones, Alexander Cahoon and Will Tilley serving as pallbearers. The service will conclude with military honors.

The family will receive friends at the church on Wednesday night, May 28th, 2014 from 5:00 PM and the 8:00 PM.
