In Loving Memory of Herta Wollering
Herta Wollering, 87, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, passed away on July 21, 2023, at her residence in Chattanooga. She was born on February 20, 1936, in Bavaria, Germany, to Max and Frieda (Gabriel) Koeberle.
Herta moved to Chattanooga three years ago from New Jersey, and she always cherished her German roots. She was a devoted member of the Catholic faith, finding solace and strength in her spiritual beliefs. Herta had a remarkable talent as a seamstress and took great joy in perfecting her craft. She was adept at creating beautiful garments and cherished handmade creations for her loved ones.
A lover of water, Herta was an accomplished swimmer and felt a deep connection to aquatic elements. Her passion for oil painting led her to create stunning landscapes, often depicting the picturesque Alps mountains of her cherished childhood memories in Germany.
Nature brought her much joy, and she could often be found tending to her garden, nurturing the flowers with care. Her home was always impeccably kept, a testament to her organized and thoughtful nature. Herta was a warm and hospitable soul, and she found immense joy in entertaining guests, making them feel welcome and at ease.
Her kindness extended not only to humans but also to animals and children. She had a special bond with the creatures around her and found comfort in their presence.
Herta is survived by her loving daughter, Loretta Wollering, and her brother, Anton Koeberle. . She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews in the United States and Germany, whose lives she touched in meaningful ways.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Max and Frieda, Her longtime step mother Karolina Koeberle, as well as her brothers, Max and Walter Koeberle, and her beloved husband, Henry (Heinz) A. Wollering.
On the morning of her passing, Herta's close sister-in-law and friend, Doris Koeberle, also journeyed to the heavens. It is with profound belief that their spirits reunited, traveling together to eternity.
The family will hold a final memorial to honor and celebrate Herta's beautiful life at a later date. Services have been entrusted to Companion Funeral and Cremation Service, Chattanooga Chapel.
In the embrace of fond memories, Herta Wollering will forever remain in our hearts. May she rest in peace, knowing that her legacy of love and kindness will endure through those she touched in her lifetime.
