Herbert Lee Charles, Sr.

Herbert Lee Charles, Sr., 87, of Calhoun, GA, passed away March 7, 2024. He was born January 8, 1937, to the late Harley and Ollie (Craig) Charles and of the Christian faith. Herbert worked in yarn manufacturing most of his life but was an excellent mechanic and handyman. He was the jack of all trades.

In addition to his parents, Herbert is preceded in death by his siblings, Elford Charles, Murrell Bowen, Lanelle Silvers, Mary Lou Arnold, Betty Burns, and Marvin Charles; children, Waymond Charles, Herbert Ray Charles, and Barbara Waters; grandchild, Zoey Charles.

Survived by his children, Jeff Craig, Ralph (Dawn) Charles, Kathy (David) Baggett, Lee (April) Charles, Vanessa Wade, Fred Charles, Chris (Jessica) Charles, and Ashley (Jesse) Harcrow; siblings, Jerry Charles and Shirley (Jimmy) Swafford; 27 grandchildren, a host of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
