Herbert A. "Buck" Burgess

Herbert A. “Buck” Burgess, 86, a resident of Cleveland, TN passed away on Friday morning, March 11th, 2016 at his home. Buck was born in Fyffe, AL a son of the late Jessie & Amanda “Lizzie” Burgess. He was of the Baptist faith. Buck work many years in the local chair manufacturing firms. He was an avid fisherman.
In addition to his mother and father he is preceded in death by two sons Jessie Clyde Burgess and Larry Andrew Burgess.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory nine children Patsy Redd (Anthony), Peggy Borden, Phyllis Ownby (Danny), Lucille Wooten (Benny), Paul Burgess, Doris Handy, John Burgess, Shelia Coker (Michael) and David Burgess, twenty two grandchildren, thirty one great grandchildren, numerous other extended family members and a host of special friends.
A celebration of his life is planned for Monday, March 14th, 2016 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Companion Funeral Home located at 2419 Georgetown Road NW in Cleveland, TN. Interment will follow in the Lee Cemetery with Brian Crowden, Benji Wooten, Jason Wooten, David Burgess, Chris Ownby and Phillip Ownby.
The family will receive friends on Sunday night, March 13th, 2016 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and also one hour prior to the service on Monday.
