Henry Lee “H. L.” Hamilton, 84, a lifelong resident of Cleveland, TN passed away on Tuesday night, February 28th, 2017 at his home in Charleston, TN. H. L. was born on December 5th, 1932 a son of the late Ivo & America Hamilton. He was a local farmer for the majority of life and was inducted into the Bradley County Agriculture Hall of Fame and served on many local agriculture boards. Also he was a longtime businessman owning several business in the Bradley County area. H. L. was a member of Candies Creek Baptist Church and served as head usher for 16 years. He will be forever remembered as the “#1 Candy Supplier” to many at Candies Creek.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one sister Reba Miller.
H. L. is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Connie Johnson Hamilton, four children, Howard Hamilton (Traci), Rachael Hamilton Casteel (Ronnie), Troy Hamilton and Aaron Fulbright (Julie) all of Cleveland, grandchildren- Brooke Edwards Anderson (James) of Chattanooga, Brandon Edwards (Holly) of Cleveland, Katie Hamilton of Memphis, Connor Hamilton of Nashville, Meredith Casteel Snyder (Seth) of Jacksonville, NC, seven great grandchildren, Carter Edwards, Cate Edwards, Claire Edwards all of Cleveland, Harper Anderson, Baylor Anderson Fischer Anderson all of Chattanooga, and Beau Snyder of Jacksonville, NC. He is also survived by numerous other extended family members and a host of special friends. He is also survived by his beloved dog – “Buster”.
A celebration of his life is planned for Friday, March 3rd, 2017 at 7:00 PM at the Candies Creek Baptist Church located at 294 Old Eureka Road NW in Charleston, TN with the Reverend Stan Gibson officiating. The family will receive friends at the church on Friday evening from 4:30 PM until the 7:00 PM service time. The interment and committal service will take place on Saturday morning, March 4th, 2017 at 11:00 AM in the Candies Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with Brandon Edwards, Connor Hamilton, James Anderson, Joel Pointer, Donnie Davis, Charlie Wattenbarger, Charlie Crisp and Dennis Tweed serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will Milton Hooper, Tom Jolley, Tom Carroll, Mike Hinkle, Pete Matson and Mickey Thompson.
