Henry Clayton Setters

Henry “Papaw” Clayton Setters, 84, a resident of Cleveland, TN, passed away peacefully on December 31st, 2019 surrounded by his loved ones. He was known for his humor and ability to keep a smile on everyone’s face. He enjoyed fishing, boating, and traveling in his RV to visit his friends and family. He was honorably discharged from the United States Army on September 30th, 1957. After leaving the U.S. Army, he made a career as a truck driver with BFI where he retired.
He is preceded in death by his parents C.B. and Anna Smith Setters, wife- Shirley Setters, son- John “Billy” Dixon, daughter and son in law- Sheryl and Jimmy Tilson, daughter- Jennifer Cathey, sister- Elsie Mae Foster, brothers- Ed, Charlie, and Gene Setters and granddaughter- Misty Tilson.

He is survived by five children Brenda Rapier (Randy), Jeff Setters, Ricky Setters, Donna Richardson and Deanna Jones, grandchildren Samantha Carroll (Chad), Michelle Foust (Steven), Nikki Hutto, Alexis Clowers (Debron), Danielle Greenwood (Kevin), Shane Hutto, C.J. Hutto, Corey Hood (Tara), Daniel (Angela), Christopher, and Jeffery Setters and Jon Richardson, two brothers John Setters (Hoppe) and Paul Setters (Sharon), and 25 Great Grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family will receive friends on Friday January 3, 2020 from 5-8 PM in the Cleveland chapel of Companion Funeral Home located at 2415 Georgetown Road. The family will also receive friends on Saturday, January 4, 2020 from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM. The celebration of Life Service will begin at 1:00 PM in the funeral home chapel with the Reverend Richard Mason officiating.

Interment will follow in the Fort Hill Cemetery with Randy Rapier, Billy Massingale, Chad Carroll, David Scott, Debron Clowers and Corey Hood serving as pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers will include Gabriel Hutto, Logan Greenwood and Lucas Clowers.
