Henry Charles Bowman

Henry Charles Bowman age of 84, of Birchwood was born on March 2, 1934 a beloved husband, father, and grandfather; went home to be with his Heavenly Father on Saturday, March 17, 2018 surrounded by his loving family.
Henry was a well-known timber producer for 40 years before retiring. He started logging at a young age helping his dad and brothers. He enjoyed gardening; sharing his vegetables with family, friends and neighbors. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family. His greatest joy was telling people about Jesus. He wore his testimony daily on his hat. Being a witness for Jesus everywhere he went. It read Jesus loves me and everyone he met would say I love your hat. He was a member of Eastview Chapel where he was always ready to give his testimony or say a prayer.
He was preceded in death by his granddaughters Jenny Wright, Crystal McClure, parents Eway and Sarah Bowman, his brothers Tommy, Luther, Leslie, Eway Jr., James, and Claude Bowman, and his sisters Ruby Allison, Emma McClure and Leilar Bowman.
He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years Mollie Jane Bowman and children; Nancy (Darwin) Williams of Birchwood, TN; Sharon (Andy) Coffee of Cleveland, TN; Debbie (Billy) Suttles, Charles Bowman, Kenneth Bowman, Carolyn McCallie, Shirley (Randy) Lawson, Billy (Abby) McClure, of Birchwood, TN; Eighteen grandchildren Kristy (Jimmy) Sewell, Amy (Chris) Mason, DJ (Misti) Williams, Buddy (Jordan) Suttles, Kelly McCarter, Blake Bowman, and Emily McClure of Birchwood, TN. Mekesha (John) Evans, Jason (Tiffany) Bowman, and Mollie Coffee of Cleveland, TN; Neil (Allison) McCallie and Michael (Becca) Bowman of Charleston, TN; Jamie (James) Davis of Decatur, TN; Brandi (Mike) Williams of Riceville, TN. Buck (Kady) Bowman of Parkersville, WV; Daniel Bowman and LJ Cordell of Chattanooga, TN; Step grand children Charles and Jason Lawson of Birchwood, TN. Twenty six great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren and special friend Stanley King.
Sisters Margie Bettis, of Georgetown, TN, Virginia Peavyhouse of Cleveland, TN and Lula Ford of Birchwood, TN, several nieces and nephews. To him each and everyone were special and loved and for us left behind he will be dearly and greatly missed.
As much as a child loves their father he will be missed even more by all who knew him.
The family will be receiving friends on Monday March 19, 2018 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at Companion Funeral Home, located at 2419 Georgetown Road NW, Cleveland, TN 37311, as well as on Tuesday March 20, 2018 from 1:00pm until 2:00.

A celebration of life service will begin at 2:00pm on Tuesday March 20, 2018 at Companion Funeral Home, with Pastor DeWayne Murphy officiating the service.

Following the service Henry will be laid to rest at McInturff Cemetery with DJ Williams, Buck, Michael & Jason Bowman, Buddy Suttles, and Neil McCallie Jr. serving as pallbearers.
